Year 3

In Year 3 we are at the start of our journey through Key Stage 2. Life is very busy and we have to work very hard - but we have lots of fun too.

Year 3 is a very special year because we are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist for the first time in the spring term. This is always an incredible event, and a time for wonderful celebrations with our families and friends. So as to be ready to receive Jesus for the first time, we work closely with our teachers, parents and Catechists.

Our work in Year 3 is challenging but fun. Much of our work is linked to our topics which have been based around World War 2, Ancient Egypt, Countries of the World, Investigating the History and Geography of our local area, The River Nile and Romans. We have also used these topics as a stimulus for some amazing literacy and art.

One of the highlights for Year 3 is the chance to start swimming lessons. We love these lessons and work really hard to achieve the hardest of all swimming awards - our 5 metre certificate. There is definitely no stopping us after that!

Our classroom is always busy and filled with bright and colourful displays which showcase our talents and success.
